About UGP

Uckfield Green Partnership is a new initiative set up in 2021 to coordinate green projects within the town and to support and encourage residents who want to do their bit for the environment.

UGP is a steering group with representatives from groups including Uckfield Town Council, Wealden District Council, Brighter Uckfield, Ashdown Forest Conservators, Millennium Green Trustees, schools and other local green interest groups. Action in Rural Sussex are providing support from a community engagement perspective.

The 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, brought into sharp focus the need for everyone to be aware of the growing number of climate issues affecting the planet and aimed to find ways for this to be done on a county-wide level. But as a town, we can still do our bit, whether it is recycling more, revamping some old furniture and giving it new life, growing chillies on a kitchen windowsill or reducing the amount of plastic we use each week.

Together we can make a green difference.
